Where is Fenelon Falls?

Fenelon Falls is a village in the heart of Kawartha Lakes and home to lock 34 on the Trent Severn Waterway between Cameron Lake and Sturgeon Lake. It is only an hour and a half from the GTA and a popular seasonal tourist town.

Family Friendly Community

Fenelon Falls Secondary School is a public high school located in town. It was founded in 1827 and hosts nearly 1000 students from surrounding rural communities. A newly built Community Centre has a hockey rink, fitness centre and meeting rooms for residents. Fenelon Falls also hosts a number of events for holidays.

Density

Fenelon Falls is home to approximately 2500 permanent residents, however this number is growing fast due to people moving further north from the higher priced cities. Since Fenelon Falls is a popular summer tourist town, the population grows considerably from May to September. New developments are being considered on the waterfront and outskirts of town which will bring in even more families.

As of 2016, a total of 1,130 private dwellings were in Fenelon Falls, with most being single detached homes at 860 total. The average age of the population was 50.7 years old.

Recreation & Amenities

Lock 34

Fenelon Falls is home to Lock 34, a very popular lift lock that brings boats from Cameron Lake to Sturgeon Lake. Onlookers can watch as boats go in and out of the locks on busy summer weekends. Boaters come from near and far to travel the Trent Severn Waterway and can tie off with overnight mooring, camping, washrooms, potable water and a picnic area.

What is there to do in Fenelon Falls?

Downtown Fenelon Falls is home to boutique shops and family owned restaurants. Take a stroll down the main street, check out the locks while enjoying an ice cream, or grab some lunch at the popular restaurants near the water. Take the kids to Garnet Graham Beach where they can swim at the beach on Cameron Lake or run around at the new park and splash pad.
